The strawberry is a fruit with a long history of being used as a dye in cosmetics, but its popularity in the past decade has been waning as its popularity has declined.
In the United States, the strawberry is one of the few foods that still contains traces of the dye, but the lack of use of it in cosmetics has caused many consumers to doubt its safety.
“We’ve all been told strawberries are safe, but there are still people who are still eating strawberries,” Ms Goulburn said.
Ms Gathburn and her team have been testing products made with strawberries and have found a few that have been found to contain traces of dyes. “
There’s no way to tell if the strawberry you’re eating is safe for your liver or your kidneys, or if it’s a source of a chemical that could cause cancer.”
Ms Gathburn and her team have been testing products made with strawberries and have found a few that have been found to contain traces of dyes.
But she warns that the majority of people have not been exposed to a strawberry and is concerned that it could be dangerous.
“The amount of risk that the consumer is taking is so small that it’s not worth worrying about,” she said.
Ms Gaughton said her group’s work was focused on a few products.
“This is not a whole range of products,” she told the ABC.
Ms Gillian Goulbur says her team is looking into alternative sources of dye and wants to develop alternative alternatives to the strawberry. “
And that’s the approach we’re taking in this area.”
Ms Gillian Goulbur says her team is looking into alternative sources of dye and wants to develop alternative alternatives to the strawberry.
“I want people to make a choice about the way they eat, and if they’re eating the strawberries and eating a good quality product that they’re actually consuming the chemicals in the strawberries,” she says.
“If they’re getting the chemicals from the strawberries, then they’re taking the risks.”
For some people, there’s a good chance that strawberries contain a chemical linked to cancer.
Ms Gillan Goulbull said the use of chemicals in cosmetics is linked to increased risk of cancer.
“It’s the case that if you eat a strawberry you’ve been exposed,” she explained.
“You might be exposed to some of the chemicals that are in the strawberry, or you might have some of those chemicals that have gone into the strawberry.”
She said that, if the strawberries were a source for the chemicals, people could reduce their risk by eating a lot of fresh strawberries.
“So if we look at the foods we buy, we’ve seen that the strawberries are still a major source of the chemical exposure, so we can’t just be making a switch to something else, but we can look at alternatives,” she explains.
“Because we can take that information and try to make things safer, we can make healthier alternatives to strawberries.” ABC/AAP
